Wegen der großen Nachfrage stellt der Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer e.V. (BDÜ) auch dieses Jahr wieder seine beliebte „Weihnachtsdatenbank“ online.

Dort steht die Übersetzung der Festtagsgrüße in über 60 Sprachen dieser Welt. Neben der Übersetzung von „Frohe Weihnachten“ in den gängigen europäischen Sprachen finden sich dort auch exotischere Weihnachtsgrüße – zum Beispiel in den Sprachen Indonesisch, Nepalesisch oder Kikuyu. Der besondere Clou der Weihnachtsdatenbank ist die Technik dahinter: Weil für viele Sprachen spezielle Schriftsätze nötig sind, stehen die Grüße als fertige Text- beziehungsweise Grafikdatei zum Herunterladen bereit. Die Nutzung ist kostenfrei.
